The Ecclesiastical Museum of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki
It is housed on the ground floor of the Metropolis building next to the cathedral of saint Gregory Palamas. The Museum’s objective is to point out the theological dimension of icons through time and space via celebrated exhibits, forming the grandeur of Orthodox Tradition. The doctrinal importance of icons for the Church is displayed; the style of depiction on the Divine Incarnation mystery, as well as the way hope of salvation is reinforced for the flock. At the same time, the contemporary history of the Metropolis of Thessaloniki is also displayed.
