Built in the foothills of Stratonic Mountain, with an altitude of approximately 500 metres and 89 kilometres to Thessaloniki, the settlement attracts many visitors, especially during summertime, due to its beautiful natural environment, the interesting monuments, the towers, the public baths, the house of Madem Aga, the temple of the Virgin Mary’s Birth, erected in 1814 with the support of Hilandar Monastery of Mountain Athos.
